The T.E.A.M. (Teachers of Experiential and Adventure Methodology) conference is held in Chicago, IL each year and was started by a man named Dan Creeley to provide an opportunity for experiential educators to gather and share ideas and resources. It has grown a lot over the years, and has a really big mid-west following. Steven Simpson, Tony Calabrese, Gary "Big Dog" Cwidak, Tom Smith, Cliff Knapp, Karl Rohnke, and many other movers and shakers in our field are regulars and provide some great workshops. AND- it's cheap as far as conferences go. $120.00 per person for the weekend. $100.00 per person if 5 or more folks from the same organization go together. I'm bringing a bunch of our Outdoor Ed staff. It's a really great resource. You should consider it! It is held on the North Eastern Illinois University campus. Describe your involvement or interest in adventure-based experiential learning.
I am currently in the Experiential Education Master's program at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I am a GA with the Adventure Education Program, facilitating on the campus challenge course.
What are your goals, and how can The Challenge community help you achieve them?
After completing my Master's, my desire is to direct a university challenge course and teach students how to use challenge courses as a tool to transform lives.
